The person behind the course

A decade in classrooms, a decade in code, three kids at home — and one conviction: children can outgrow the algorithms competing for their attention.

Ryan Findley began as a teacher. He ended up building AI products in Silicon Valley, which meant he saw both sides of the same machine: the child in row three, and the growth metric on the dashboard.

What he learned is uncomfortable. Nothing being shipped to kids is accidental. Engagement loops, endless patience, synthetic warmth — every one of these is a deliberate design choice, and every one of them lands on a brain that is still under construction.

For the past two years he has trained teachers from hundreds of schools across the world, with recognition from organisations including the International Baccalaureate and the Colorado Education Initiative.

This course is the version of that training built for parents: no jargon, no doom, no assumption that you know what a language model is. Just the map he wishes every family had been handed two years ago.
